The Central House Hotel
aka Hotel Boscobel
Boscobel, WI
On March 15, 2008, The Chippewa Valley Paranormal Investigators turned their attention to the World Famous Central House Hotel.  As
you can see in the photo above, it is the Birthplace of the Gideon Bible!  Originally built in 1865 by Adam Bobel, the Hotel has seen a lot
of history, a lot of drama, and tons of changes over the years.  Unfortunately, the Hotel itself is no longer operational, but they still
operate the Bar and Restaurant.  The food is outstanding (best grilled pizza this side of Wisconsin) and the staff is uber-friendly.  (We
cannot comment about the spirits, ahem, I mean the alcohol, because we do not drink during our investigations.)
Our first impressions were that of awe, we were in the presence of history.  But history has been rather tainted by a Haunted House
put up by the local Jaycees (which was a noble gesture by the owners) on the second and third floors.  Luckily, the Gideon Room (where
it was believed the idea of the Gideon Bible was conceived) was left unscathed.
On the third floor, there was one particular room that seemed to be troubled more than any other.  It was decorated as a Satanic
temple, complete with large "Stain Glass" upside down crosses and an inverted pentagram with Satan's face in the middle.
himself...) is on the Altar, maybe it was to be sacrificed... But seriously...  We got several EVP's from this room, mostly whispers of
"Get Out."  We also had several physical encounters of touching, pushing and hair pulling in this room.  We also got a feeling of despair
in this room,  almost to the point where it took your breath away.  Months later we returned with our version of Frank's Box, with some
interesting results.    More in our book:
